Ryanair Trolls Honeymooning Newlyweds, Predicts Their Marriage Won’t Last

It’s common for people to tweet their travel frustrations to airlines. What’s uncommon is airlines publicly snarking back. (A Delta employee purportedly named “Daisy” responded last year to a customer in a tweet that went viral.)

Unless that airline is Ryanair. The Irish carrier’s Twitter account is famously downright wicked. Want to start a Twitter beef with them? They might respond. Just make sure you don’t make any typos — that’s fuel for the fire.

Mark Bowe and his lovely bride strolled into Ryanair’s crosshairs on Tuesday while en route to Ibiza. The groom tweeted about the lack of a window in his row on a Ryanair plane. “I’m hitting home runs with flights for my wedding,” he tweeted. “Off on honeymoon now about to fly into #ibiza for the first time and we just can’t wait to check out the view on the way over… Oh…wait….Cheers @Ryanair #nowindow #wheresmywindow #someview.”

Ryanair shot back, “(Your wife is) regretting marrying someone who can’t read the fine print.”

Ouch!

But wait, it gets better. (Or worse, depending on your perspective.)

Twitter user @KingAimez told Ryanir, “LOOOOOOOOL Rynair admin your days are numbered.”

Ryanair turned its attention back to the newlyweds and said, “like this marriage.”

Woof.

Ryanair apparently wasn’t finished. They added, “We sell seats, not windows” to their Twitter bio.

So, what did Ryanir mean by “the fine print”? Maybe this page, which explains not all rows have windows.

For his part, Mr. Bowe was a good sport. I wouldn’t be surprised if he intentionally tried stirring the pot and hoped to get roasted by Ryanair.

Congrats to the newlyweds!

Sorry, airlines: your fleets better be 5G ready before July 1.

Don’t even think about hanging a towel over your Disney hotel balcony.

How about this? Las Vegas is apparently a popular destination for “getting fit.” (That’s certainly not why I go there but good for you if that is.)

One travel writer explains why she’s loyal to Delta: the airline’s inflight entertainment. (Hey, it’s probably not the SkyMiles redemptions.)
